BIOGRAPHY
Named 2008 Global Mixx DJ of The Year, Versatility,
originality, and flexibility behind the turn tables are key words
in describing the talents of JiJi Sweet. JiJi Sweet began her
career as a senior at the University of Arizona. After working on
perfecting her craft for about a year, JiJi landed her first gig
with the local Kappa Alpha Psi chapter. JiJi soon became one of the
most sought after DJ’s in Tucson, holding down almost every Greek
function at the University. It was here that she began to do Mix
CD’s. A few years later the buzz about JiJi Sweet’s Mix CD’s was
out and she was referred to the Mix Show Coordinator at Tucson's
Hot 98.3. JiJi became a regular on the Mix Masters Show and she
became an Arizona Star. JiJi wanted to branch out of Arizona to
conquer another state so she left for Las Vegas, Nevada where she
was promptly hired at KCEP Power 88 as a host of the Mix Down Show.
JiJi worked there for a while but still felt like she was destined
for bigger and better things. JiJi packed her things and left to
the city where dreams come true, Los Angeles, CA. It was there
where she rose to the top. Her skills on the turn tables did not go
unnoticed and after a brief trial period she was offered a mid-day
position where she mixed for Nautica De La Cruz at 100.3 The Beat.
At the time 100.3 The Beat was the #1 station in the Los Angeles
Market. It was during this period that JiJi was offered a warm up
position for the syndicated TV Show, Steve Harvey’s Big Time on the
WB. JiJi Sweet attained great exposure through this show and jobs
started flying her way. JiJi has been on tour with some of the
biggest hip-hop and R&B artists including SWV, YoYo, Tedra
Moses and many more . JiJi Sweet is currently the Mix Show DJ for
102.3 KJLH, Los Angeles, Music Choice, Sirius Hot 50 Jams and Super
Radio’s 30 Affiliates. She also Hosts A Syndicated Show on
SWURVRadio, Goodfellasradio, World Vibe Radio, Royal Radio, Power
141,BBW Radio, Sho Shumthin.com, Reewinemusic, and Myblockradio.net
. If there’s one thing you can count on with JiJi is whether the
show calls for the freshest Hip-Hop, R&B, Top 40, Reggae, or
Mashups, JiJi Sweet is one DJ who has all the bases
covered!
